Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to obtain the implications of the recent trends in cognitive behavioral therapy for domestic couple and family therapy.

Methods: This study theoretically explored ACT and IBCT, and examined the implications for domestic couple and family therapy through identifying the premise and characteristics of the two models.

Results: First, both models have a central position in the flow of new cognitive behavioral therapy, emphasizing mindfulness or acceptance based on existing cognitive behavioral therapy. Second, ACT aims to increase psychological flexibility and IBCT aims to resolve conflicts through acceptance of differences, yet their use in couple and family therapy is not yet active in Korea. Third, both models are highly likely to be effectively applied to relationships, focusing on an integrative personality and evidence-based practice model.

Conclusions: This study will ultimately contribute to the revitalization of domestic cognitive behavioral couple and family therapy research, diversification of counseling techniques, and accumulation of basic data for the expansion and deepening of therapy models applied in family therapy sites.
